Busted Cribs: Building a Brand from scratch

Justin and Stephanie Jones wanted to build a brand around more than just their construction company that specialized in custom home builds and rehabs. 

So they contacted Paper Jacket.

The Busted Cribs brand was first launched as a YouTube and Social Media “show” that featured projects from Justin & Stephanie Homes Inc. The Busted Cribs show (now two seasons long) is also featured on the streaming app PureFlix.

Build a brand that provides more business and ministry opportunity for Justin & Stephanie Jones

This was literally the message that we received when Justin and Stephanie scheduled their first meeting with us:

“Want to start a rehab youtube channel..like Chip and Joanna of Pinellas county lol”

In reality, they needed to grow their business and brand, but wanted to do it in a creative way that showcased their work and skill, built and engaging audience, and build further opportunity around their passion: to glorify Christ and minister to others. So here’s what we did…

 

Our Answer

Our suggestion was to launch a brand that connected well to a larger audience who may not all be looking for their services or could help Justin and Stephanie directly provide more business, but could rally around their brand and help spread it more organically. So, together, we came up with the name Busted Cribs, built a brand, and began shooting video content.

Within weeks, their social media was growing with high-supportive fans. They loved seeing the process of Justin and Stephanie on their projects, showing off their skill, showing how they overcame problems, and making them laugh the entire time! 

In addition to creating a fan base, their business connections began spreading the word to more potential customers. Once these prospects saw the Busted Cribs content, they basically hired them on the spot. 

Within one year, Justin and Stephanie received multiple business opportunities, exceeding over 1.5 million in sales across their construction businesses. They have built a fan base, a network, and even a request to showcase their show on the Christian streaming platform: PureFlix.
